Trump Cancels North Korea Summit


President Donald Trump has canceled his planned summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, citing the “tremendous anger and open hostility” in recent statements from Pyongyang.

Trump announced the decision to call off the June 12 meeting on Twitter, where he released his letter to Kim, saying he felt it was “inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting.”

North Korea hardened its rhetoric toward the U.S. earlier Thursday, warning it was ready for a “nuclear-to-nuclear” showdown if the U.S. didn’t follow through on the summit.
